CHRISTIAN PELLIZZARI AND GALERIE NEGROPONTES FOR SALVIATI

"nature rebirth"

A chandelier created for the 2025 edition of Murano Illumina il Mondo in collaboration with international artist Christian Pellizzari and Galerie Negropontes. A work that explores themes of rebirth, natural evolution, and resilience.

Nature Rebirth features blown-glass eggs crafted using a shaded incamiciato technique: a white core wrapped in peacock green enriched with tone-on-tone speckles. The snakes are made from bossole, glass elements traditionally used to build the arms of classic Rezzonico chandeliers, here reimagined with red frit over a white base. At the end of each snake, smaller finials are decorated with brick-red speckles over white incamiciato glass. A gentle twist in each finial adds a dynamic, flowing feel to the entire piece. Every glass component also features a rigadin finish, giving the surface a bold, tactile character.

Lighting plays an essential role in the installation.
The larger eggs contain LED light points, while the tentacles integrate LED strips. This discreet, fully internal lighting solution enhances the transparency of the glass and creates a unified chromatic and luminous effect.
The multi-layered radial structure was engineered to ensure stability and lightness.

Salviati’s contribution focused on defining the production methods and translating the artistic vision into glassmaking techniques and forms.
The result is a project that brings together contemporary design and the region’s historic craftsmanship—a collaborative approach that Salviati has long championed.
