Presented at the Venice Biennale and winner of the prestigiuos “Compasso d’Oro” Award in 1962, this piece embodies the perfect mix of industrial techniques and craftsmanship. Initially formed in a wooden mould, the vase is then squashed by hand to achieve an unique profile. Sergio Asti came up with an unprecedented solution, creating a balanced combination of industrial technology and manual skills while respecting the true nature of glass.
