The plate, entirely handcrafted, is made by laying molten glass onto a horizontal section of a wooden pile that was originally submerged in the lagoon.

<The traces left by marine organisms on the wood create a distinctive pattern, which is imprinted onto the molten glass, resulting in a texture that reflects the very essence of the Venetian lagoon ecosystem.

The name is a tribute to the stilt system originally used to lay the foundations of the ancient city.
