The Marco vase is the result of formal research and technological analysis. It was presented at the Venice Biennale and won the Compasso d’Oro award in 1962. Its shape stems from the combination of different processes and is obtained through the casing technique. Once formed, the vase is removed from the wooden mould and hand-flattened to modify its original profile. Moulding and craftsmanship blend to create a unique and exclusive piece. The designer came up with an unprecedented solution, creating a perfect combination of industrial technology and manual skills while respecting the original character of glass.
